If you have a 17 maybe a 43x would be best if you’re just wanting to carry. The 43x mos has a better light mounting option and after market support (shield arms mags). I dont have experience with the new shield but the og shield shot extremely well for its size for me. Better than I shoot my 43x for sure. If S&W would offer a shield plus with the same capacity and an accessory rail I bet it would out handle the 43x mos.
