Jan 31, 2012 · I had a custom 16 lb 338 edge and it was extremely accurate. Then I picked up a Weatherby accumark 338-378 and ended up selling the edge. My accumark is just as accurate, weighs 11lbs scoped and with a 26 inch barrel will shoot a 300 gr bullet faster than the edge.I think the factor is how accurate the weatherby is that you get.The weatherby brass is better than the remington brass. I'm not sure why a good gunsmith wouldn't chamber a Remington 700 in a .338 Lapua. Remington's M24A3 is a .338 Lapua and it's basically a Rem 700 action. I personally would go with a .338 Edge as the .338 RUM Brass is getting hard to find and the overall cost of brass for the .338 Lapua is much more expensive than the RUM series.Points. 43. The 338 lapua compared to the 338 edge are pretty close velocity wise. In your situation I'd just go 338 edge and get a new barrel. The 338 edge +p is a defensive edge only option. If I was starting new I'd go 338 lapua, the brass is available and better. Plus the 338 lapua improved gets you more velocity and out paces anything based on rum brass.

I recently picked up a 338 edge and I'm looking for some load data. I have found a little online but wanted to see if anyone can give me a little more. The powders I have available are H1000, Retumbo, and RL 33, the bullets I have on hand are 250 gr accubonds and serria gamekings, and 300 gr bergers, and accubonds.
