A musical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz with an African American cast and a urban setting. Dorothy, a shy Harlem teacher, is transported to Oz by a storm and meets the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion on her way to the Emerald City. Ross' Dorothy fears Oz and ultimately escapes from it.
