Ahrims is basically best mage armour until you can afford ancestral. Karils is good for range if you need mage defense, or blessed dhide for range with slightly better melee defense. For most situation, blessed dhide is good enough and cheaper. Pretty much stuck with these until masori, arma is an expensice upgrade for very minimal stat gain.

Bowfa is definitely better on vents. For switches I'd probably bring 6-8 way depending on dps calc. Scythe is generally better, but if you don't hit a dwh it's inconsistent, and you can lose hits last phase to the spawns. I would probably bring dwh if you decide to scythe and claws if you arclight.
