May your heart be cleansed, that you might hear its message clearly. May your throat be cleansed, that you might speak rightly when words are needed. I found this prayer/poem in a book called Poetry Please! Apparently, it is a traditional Native American funeral reading of the Ishi people from the Pacific Northwest.
